Today's Bible Verse : | Galatians 3:16 | New International Version

The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.

Day 39 - Gods Promises: Psalm 84:11-12

Psalm 84:11-12 New International Version

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.

Verse Commentary Provided By: Toni Shaw

God is a sun and a shield. Like the sun, God provides for us, nourishes us, and is always present. The sun provides hope with each new day, just as God gives hope in even the worst situation. Like a shield, God protects us and gives us security. We can hide behind Him and feel safe. But, a shield does no good just laying near by. It only protects when picked up and used appropriately. The same is true with God. If we don't acknowledge Him, if we don't get to know Him, if we don't truly depend on Him and walk with Him, we won't receive the protection, security, and peace that He freely offers us.

The Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. I've been thinking a lot about this portion of the verse. The more I meditate on this portion, the more I realize that this is absolutely true. Even the "bad" things of life are often blessings in disguise. When I look back on the past 5 years I recall many disappointing, difficult, scary, lonely situations. At the time they didn't seem like good gifts from God but now it is obvious that God allowed those things in my life because He withholds no good thing. I needed all the good and "bad" things of life to make me the person I am right now. As I walk into tomorrow, knowing that truth causes fear disappear and worry disintegrate.  God is in complete control. He will give me favor and honor and keep nothing good from me. He knows what is best for me and promises to give me everything I need. I just have to walk uprightly, seeking Him, loving Him, allowing Him to be my sun and my shield. Read More...

Day 33 - Gods Promises: Philippians 4:19

 Philippians 4:19, NIV:

"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." ... Philippians 4:19, NLT: "And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."

Verse commentary provided by Bibleref.com

In his conclusion of thanks to his readers, Paul encourages them. Paul was confident that God would meet their needs because they were generous in their giving. This is not a promise of wealth, or even an easy life. Rather, the concept of "need" has to be considered according to God's will. What we "need" and what we "want" are not always the same thing. That being said, God tends to bless those who will use the resources they have according to His purposes. This is something Paul observed specifically happening with the Philippians.

Their needs would be met through Christ, the one who made and controlled all things. They would never lack with Christ as their provider. From the earliest pages of Scripture, God has been known as the Lord who will provide (Genesis 22:14), affirmed by Peter as well (2 Peter 1:11). As Paul noted in 2 Corinthians 9:10, "He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness."

Day 32 - Gods Promises: Malachi 3:10

 Malachi 3:10 NIV IV

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

Commentary by - Joel Osteen

God promises to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings on you today! But, you have to do your part of this verse. Your part is to be a faithful tither and be obedient to the Lord with your finances.

The truth is, we are all just stewards over the resources God has given us. When we are good and faithful stewards, the Lord entrusts us with more. He opens the windows of heaven. Have you ever thought about what kind of blessing would be so great that there would not be room enough to receive it? It may be hard to comprehend, but that’s what God’s Word promises!

Today, make the decision to be a giver. Be a tither. The tithe is the first tenth of your income. As the scripture says, get ready to prove the Lord because He is faithful. Thank Him today because He is going to pour out abundant blessings on every area of your life!

Day 26 - God Promises: Mark 11:24

Mark 11:24 New International Version (NIV)
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours

.

Verse Commentary - By Joel Osteen:
Has God spoken things to your heart that haven't come to pass yet? Sometimes when we are believing for things, it's easy to let circumstances and the pressures of life drag us down. But when you make the choice to receive your promise by picturing it in your mind's eye, and declaring it with the words of your mouth, your faith becomes stronger. You begin to feel more confident. You begin to feel more settled. You begin to have joy and peace because you know God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

What are you believing for God to do in your life today? Can you see it in your mind's eye? Can you see yourself healed? Can you see yourself paying off that last debt? Can you see yourself at your ideal weight? Can you see yourself sharing the gospel with a family member or coworker? Ask the Lord to give you the picture of what He sees when He looks at you. As you open your heart and allow God's thoughts to become your thoughts, and your receive His promises by faith, just like it says in the above verse — whatever you ask for in prayer will be yours!

Day 22 - God Promises: Isaiah 43:2

Isaiah 43:2 | King James Version | KJV |
2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Verse Thoughts: By - dailyverse.knowing-jesus.com
The Lord has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, no matter what life my throw at us. We are redeemed by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been bought with a price and we belong to the Father and His favour is upon all His children. He has promised to cover us with His gentle calm and protect us by His perfect peace, when our hearts rest in Him. Read More...

He Will Multiply You
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
And I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly.
Genesis 17:2, AMPC

TODAY’S WORD:
God is in the multiplication business. It doesn’t matter what your need is today, God wants to increase you! One time in the Old Testament, God simply multiplied the sound of four men’s footsteps and caused them to sound like a mighty army. When their enemies heard them coming, they took off running. There were thousands of enemy troops running for their lives, scared to death, thinking they were being attacked by a massive army when, in fact, it was just four people!

Friend, God can make you seem bigger than you really are. He can make you look more powerful. He knows how to multiply your influence, your strength, your talent and your income. You don’t have to figure it all out. All you have to do is put your trust in Him. If you will release your faith and get up every day expecting God’s far and beyond favor, you’re going to see God multiply you in every area of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Thank You for Your promise to bless and multiply me. Direct my steps, keep me close to You as I increase in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
